Personal favourites from NYFW

Fashion week has started, starting with New York. Now, I could name more favourites than I posted here. Many collections made me go WOW! But these one's stood out the most to me. I knew automatically that Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs and Oscar De La Renta's collections would blow me away, which they did! So I have posted those. Alexander Wang would have to be my favourite though, ah, so beautiful! I have also posted my favourites from Jason Wu, of whom I've never been too keen on until I saw this collection!!! Prabal Gurung blew me away also! Yet again, hadn't really heard much of this designer until now and I really think I am going to love there future collections! Jill Stuart - absolutely beautiful and so fairytale like and cute! I also liked others such an Anna Sui, Victoria Beckham and Zac Posen... so I suggest you check out every single collection and make up your own mind :) xoxoxo

SORRY

I really need to pick up on my blogging! I'm at college everyday 9am till 4:30pm and then I get home and do all my homework and and then I'm so tired!
But tomorrow, or maybe Wednesday as I only have half a day, I'll post my NYFW highlights from last week. I'm loving LFW right now so I will post my highlights from then once it's over - so excited about Burberry and Christopher Kane!!!!!! But MFW and PFW is where it's at....
I'll also tell you about my work I've been doing at college and my nights out with my friend, which have been brilliant!
Apologies and love xoxoxoxoxo

Hey hey hey!

Sorry about the lack of posting this week! I have been so busy with my induction week at Art college that I haven't had time! I also started my job on Tuesday night and Wednesday so I've been too tired and having little time to be honest. I am in love with my Art college at the moment! The people and teachers are amazing and I am really enjoying myself :) This week was an induction week however, so the proper work starts next week... On Thursday we took a trip to the local galleries near us which was boring because I already went but I enjoyed the artist's work more the second time around. The exhibition was on a Japanese avant-garde artist called 'Atsuko Tanaka', who did very abstract, energetic, vibrant pieces of work. Including a dress made entirely of lights!
Electric Dress by Atsuko Tanaka -1956
We also got into groups and did a drawing inspired by her work. She used a lot of circles, lines and colours in her work. Sometimes though they were completely black and white. Her work was very spontaneous and radical. Take a look at my group drawing that we did in about 10 minutes that is inspired by her:

Confusing, I know. But if you google her work you will understand why we did this. So that is my induction week :) Yesterday I had the day off and my and my best friends went out for  a meal because one of them is off to University today which is sad :( I also went shopping yesterday and bought the following goodies:

I bought these boots from Topshop for £36! A hat, of which I have been dying for and there's one in Topshop for around £25-ish! But I got this from H&M for £7.99! Bargain! And of course the October issue of Vogue UK, of which I am over the moon to see Adele gracing the cover of! She deserves it so much.
Today is my Dad's birthday but as I have work tonight we are going out for a meal tomorrow. I also want to post about what's happening at Art college next week and what I'll be doing and also about NYFW which started the other day which I have been so excited for so I shall be sharing with you my favourite collections that I like and what will be hot for SS12!! But my stomach is grumbling like crazy so I'm going to grab some lunch and I'll blog later or tomorrow :)
Thank you for reading this, please follow on here and IFB! :D Have a good weekend!!!

First day at Art college

So, today I started my Art Foundation course. I was pretty nervous, more nervous about driving there but the drive went pretty well yay. It was boring being the first day. It was lovely speaking to new people. I enjoyed the task (even if it did get a bit boring towards the end) which involved having part of the college, as it is brand new, to map out and display. I have a lovely tutor who is the textiles teachers and I'm in the Fashion department which fills be with much joy :) I really want to make many friends though and so I am going to do whatever it takes to do this. Even though two of my (kind-of-ish good friends - we are no way similar) are doing it, they are boring and don't make any effort with anyone, when I'm not like that. I make so much effort with people and I am always determined to make friends with cool people! Like my current absolute best friends are amazing and I would never dream that I would become best friends with such a beautiful bunch of people :) So yeah, gonna have to do what I want I think....
Other than that little food for thought, today has been good! But now I must go off and complete my Summer project as I have to present it tomorrow in front of my form tutor group and even though it's only a small class, me and speaking in front of people do not mix :(

Post Festival Blues :(

After a very long weekend of camping, rain, music, and not showering for 5 days!! I am now home from a very amazing Festival! I had such an fantastic time and I really do have the best group of friends I could ever ask for :) We saw such amazing bands! Sad to be back home to reality as today I feel so moody and down :(
I enrolled onto my Art college this morning and I officially start that next Monday and I honestly cannot wait now. I'm really in need of something new and a change of routine to stop me feeling so sad and down about life... I know it is silly to say, as I honestly rarely feel down about life and I am usually a very happy person but lately, if it wasn't for my friends and family that keep me going I would be even more of a state! But yes, I feel as if starting something new next week is going to be the best thing that has happened to me for a while :) (fingers crossed anyway...)
I feel like I have missed out on a whole years worth of Fashion news being away for 6 days so I really need to get into the swing of blogging again.
I'll post soon and leave you with some photo's of the festival... xoxoxoxo

Inspiration from the Honourable

Daphne Guinness is my ultimate fashion icon. She is literally one of my most favourite people in the entire world and I really do idolise her beauty, her style, her glamour, her generosity and kindness. She has a twitter account (@TheRealDaphne) And I always find her tweets eye opening, mesmerising and they make me think - a lot.

Daphne Guinness

Last night whilst I was lying awake in bed around 3am, we had the following conversation:

 Daphne Guinness
 Why isn't it :(
Because Innocence has been lost to greed and to ambition. I cannot bring myself to judge though. i am not perfect!
It's so sad. But you are perfect in eyes like mine, may I ask your advice on something?
Where can I seek for inspiration, when I am feeling so low? I feel hopeless
I am reading extensively, I know that is ridiculous, but history is a great comfort. We are all just a part of a whole..
ahh, do you recommend any good reads? A trip to a gallery/museum is on for tomorrow to help me and then the library...
 Marcus Aurelius!
wonderful! Thank you Daphne and goodnight! X

So, it looks as though I may have to check out this Marcus Aurelius. My source of inspiration (as well as Daphne) because I'm finding it quite hard to think of idea's for my summer project and it needs to be done in just over a week (PANIC!)
But I am going to a local art gallery/museum today with my friends - one of the tasks that we have to do for the project, so hopefully discussing it with them, seeing visual art will inspire me and means I can knuckle down with it.
However I am going to Reading festival and I could kind of do without that at the moment, but I know my friends will make it a memorable 6 days :)

Have a good day!
